Voices of Success: Helping Students Discover Their Path and Shape Their Future
We held the “Voices of Success” Career Path Workshop at Golden High School, Nsaggu, hence creating a space for students to explore their aspirations, recognise their strengths, and make informed decisions about their education and future careers. The workshop brought together 216 students from different levels of secondary education, with sessions designed to respond to their unique stages of learning and career development. S.1 and S.2 were represented by 103 students, S.3 and S.4 by 76 students, and S.5 and S.6 by 37 students. Students were encouraged to look beyond simply choosing a profession and first understand who they are, what they enjoy, what they are good at, and the opportunities available to them.

For S.1 and S.2 students, discussions focused on career aspirations, motivation, positive decision making, and making the most of their time in school. S.3 and S.4 students explored pathways after UCE, including both academic and non academic opportunities. Meanwhile, S.5 and S.6 students focused on higher education, scholarships, career opportunities, and preparing for life after A-Level. Through interactive discussions, debates, inspirational stories, and practical guidance, students actively shared their ideas, asked questions, and gained new perspectives on planning for their futures. The sessions also encouraged students to recognise that career development is a journey that begins with self-awareness, informed choices, and consistent preparation.

Through Voices of Success, Aitenga aimed to strengthen students’ goal setting, decision making, and future planning skills, while encouraging them to seek guidance, connect with positive role models, and take purposeful steps toward their aspirations. The workshop left students with a powerful reminder: the future is shaped by the choices we make today. Career success begins with self-discovery, informed choices, clear goals, and the courage to take the first step.
