Recharged & Reconnected: Aitenga’s Inspiring Team-Building Experience

What a day!! The entire staff team visited SINA Academy, located in Mpigi, for a memorable team building event that aimed to improve teamwork, collaboration, communication, and encourage team members for the next year. This was filled with energizing activities, heartfelt testimonies, and meaningful interactions with beneficiaries who have successfully built their businesses through SINA Academy’s support.

The event began with fun games designed to encourage collaboration, communication, and trust, meeting the expectations of team members who had stated they expected to learn and have fun with the team beyond work, which would help them reconnect with colleagues on a personal level. Laughter, friendly competition, and collective problem solving created an atmosphere that many team members described as refreshing and motivating.

The highlight of the day came from meeting SINA’s beneficiaries, who have utilized the organization’s support to start and grow their own businesses. These individuals showcased their achievements with confidence, passion, and pride, leaving a lasting impression on the team. One of the team members, Hope, was heard saying, “If the ladies at Aitenga would have such a learning environment provided, they would be great entrepreneurs.” The beneficiaries shared stories of overcoming challenges, building customer bases, and creating sustainable businesses that support their families and communities, taking us back to their goal of turning challenges in to opportunities as the facilitator Mr. Babalanda Jonathan had earlier mentioned. Hearing their stories and seeing how much they have achieved left the team impressed and appreciative the opportunity to witness firsthand the real-world impact of their efforts. “The confidence of the beneficiaries was incredible,” Sheba said.

By the end of the event, the team returned home inspired and most of the members said they would request to organize and go with the Aitenga students next time so that they can learn to be more confident and open minded on the many opportunities around us. For the future, Aitenga plans to hold more community-centered team-building initiatives , ensuring that every member stays connected not only to each other but also to the communities they serve.
