Path to Success

Aitenga Women Empowerment Organization commemorated  International Women’s Day at Golden High School with an event called Path to success. The event had  incredible participation from both students and teachers  where students discovered interests, skills and future opportunities.

The day’s activities included student performances, a keynote speech and education/career path workshops , where students were split into groups and were provided with valuable insights into various career options and the education pathways to assist them in achieving their goals and success. With the assistance of Aitenga staff and Golden High School teachers, students were able to gain a deeper  understanding of the many career paths and how they can pursue their dreams.

A major highlight of the celebration was the keynote speech from  Mrs. Carol. K. Ndilima, the founder of Think Ink Uganda, a digital marketer, youth mentor. In her speech, Mrs. Carol shared her personal experiences and insights on her education and career journey including the benefits of making SMART goals early on in life. She also  encouraged the boys to be allies and support the girls in the school by creating a conducive and safe space for them to excel and thrive. Her story inspired the students to look beyond their limitations and always strive for better in their education.

 Student Testimonials

The workshop  was encouraging and motivating because it showed us that success isn’t limited to those from wealthy backgrounds. The trainers also taught us that planning for the future is very important because it makes sure we have a backup plan. A key takeaway was that a prayerful focused life leads to growth and that maintaining discipline in school is important if we want to move ahead in life.- Namyale Tracy, S6 student
