Future Focus Career Path Workshop
Future Focus was a powerful career path and emotional resilience workshop organised by Aitenga Women Empowerment Organisation. The event was held at Golden High School with guest speaker Eva Nandutu,a psychotherapist and founder of Kimalen Mental Health Hub Uganda. Her talk with the students delved deeper into key mental health challenges faced by students such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and drug abuse. She also emphasized the various forms of drug abuse, how they affect young people, and most importantly how students can recognize, prevent, and avoid substance misuse. This enabled the students to reflect and figure out coping mechanisms that can help them to combat these mental health struggles.

Upon request from the students and the school, , the Aitenga team engaged with some students in one-on-one discussions, offering guidance on personal struggles and sharing practical solutions to help them cope better with everyday challenges in order to make their student lives better.

The climax of the event was segmenting the students into 2 groups according to their ages i.e. group A (13-16yrs) which focused on identification of strengths and weaknesses and group B (17-24yrs) whose focus was under the topic skill development. These workshops further encouraged students to take proactive steps in their personal and academic growth.

The event was a success overall as it left the students ignited and motivated to take actionable steps towards improving their academic and personal lives. A special thanks to our partners at Golden High School for the warm welcome and opportunity to impact young lives.
