Anning Textile Extends support to Aitenga

Excitement filled the tailoring room as bundles of vibrant kitenge fabrics arrived from Anning Textiles. The colors and textures immediately sparked joy among our students, who saw not just fabric, but the promise of new designs. For years, Anning Textiles has played a significant role in shaping Uganda’s fabric market. As one of the largest exporters of African wax prints and woven textiles in East Africa, the company has made fabrics more accessible to tailors, fashion entrepreneurs, and small businesses across the country. Their vibrant kitenge prints, in particular, have become a staple for local designers who rely on affordable, high-quality materials to bring their creativity to life. Beyond trade, Anning Textiles has also contributed through CSR efforts by supporting community programs that promote skills development and entrepreneurship, particularly among youth and women who depend on tailoring and fashion as a source of income.
For many of our young women at Aitenga, tailoring is more than a skill, it is a pathway to independence. Every fabric donated carries within it the chance to learn, to create, and to express confidence through design. What may look like simple cloth to the outside eye becomes dresses, skirts, and pieces of art that tell many stories of resilience and hope. With this generous donation, Anning Textiles has become part of that story. Their gift ensures that each design our students make is a step into their future, one that is brighter, stronger, and filled with possibility.

To our partners at Anning Textiles, thank you for helping us transform fabric into opportunity and dreams into reality. Together, we are tailoring a future where young women can stand tall, skilled, and empowered.
