Aitenga Students Strengthen Tailoring Skills Through Mechanical Workshop
The students recently participated in a Tailoring Mechanical Workshop designed to deepen their technical knowledge and boost confidence in operating sewing machines. During the session, participants received practical lessons on how to operate, fix mechanical issues and maintain their machines. The training covered key areas such as identifying common faults, performing minor repairs, and understanding the importance of regular maintenance for efficiency and productivity.

According to Jida , one of the trainees, the workshop has been a game changer: “These mechanical trainings have helped me learn how to fix my own machine problems. I no longer have to search a lot for a repair person or spend money on costly repairs. The trainer emphasized that developing a close working relationship with their machines not only improves output but also builds independence, a vital skill for aspiring tailors looking to establish their own businesses.

Through such hands-on initiatives, Aitenga continues to equip young women with both technical and problem-solving skills, enabling them to sustain their tailoring ventures and strengthen their role in the local economy.
