Growing Fearless: Self-Defense Training at Aitenga

Empowerment went far beyond physical techniques during the self defense workshop. The young women who participated didn’t just learn how to defend themselves, they discovered their inner strength.
With expert guidance from trainers at Friends Taekwondo club, the students engaged in taekwondo techniques, various strengthening exercises to sharpen their awareness, flexibility, and confidence.
After the practical session, they engaged in a theory session that was about mindset change and teaching the girls that they don’t have to be shaped by their circumstances, however they can learn to fight back, not just physically but mentally too
“We want these young women to know that self-defense is not just about reacting to danger, it’s about walking through life with confidence and the will to live,” said one of the trainers. As the training came to an end, it was clear how much had changed, students stood taller, braver, and more confident than before. Their journey shows that empowering young women is not just about teaching skills, but about instilling the belief that they can step into the world with courage and resilience.
